Our History

Founded in 2010 by the Kloosterboer Group, BOW Terminal rapidly became a key player in the offshore wind industry. Our first major project, the Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm, set the stage for our future achievements. Over the years, we have continued to expand our expertise and operations, becoming a trusted partner in delivering innovative solutions and high-quality services for offshore wind projects.

 Recognizing the potential for growth and diversification, we expanded our Vlissingen operations in 2017 to include pre-assembly services for a leading turbine supplier. This allowed us to handle the storage and transport of wind turbine generators (WTGs), boosting our position as a key player in the offshore wind supply chain.

Successful projects and advanced heavy equipment capabilities

We have successfully completed numerous projects for monopile, pin pile and transition piece manufacturers, making significant contributions to various offshore wind and oil and gas initiatives. Our terminal’s advanced heavy equipment capabilities enable us to manage a diverse range of tasks, including the storage and transshipment of transformers, a cable reel carousel, an NMS (Noise Mitigation System and a test platform.

Monopile handling Maasvlakte

Expansion to Maasvlakte

In 2016, our expertise in Vlissingen and the strong relationship we had built with a prominent foundation manufacturer led them to approach us for assistance in setting up a terminal at Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. Thanks to this trusted partnership, we were able to help establish the terminal, which initially served as a marshalling yard for foundations.

Second terminal in Eemshaven

In response to the high demand for offshore wind terminals, we explored opportunities to establish a second terminal in Eemshaven. In 2018, we signed an agreement with Groningen Seaports to set up this facility. This expansion increased our capacity, allowing us to handle the industry’s growing needs and manage larger volumes more effectively.
